Studio Play Assistant
The museum’s Education and Interpretation department seeks applicants for its newly created part-time Studio Play Assistant. Working within the Gallery One space, the Studio Play Assistant welcomes visitors entering into the museum’s drop-in family space, Studio Play. Typical duties include assisting with hands-on activities and programs, answers questions and maintaining the tidiness of the exhibitions including set-up and tear-down of displays.
Qualified applicants will have an Associate degree and one to two years related experience and/or training. A Bachelor’s degree in studio art, art history, or communications is preferred. Previous experience working with young children and volunteers; excellent written and oral communication skills and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required. Strong organizational skills with a high level of self-motivation and attention to detail as well as the ability to work independently and as a team member are also required. Applicants must be able to work Saturdays, Sundays, and some evenings.
