User Support Technician
The museum has a part-time temporary User Support Technician position available in its Information Technology department. Working approximately 20 hours per week, the User Support Technician is responsible for providing hardware, software, and printing support to museum staff members. Typical duties include resolving issues reported to the help desk, maintain an inventory log of hardware and software, take rotational evening and weekend calls in the event of an emergency, develop technology training guides, and provide basic administration of computer accounts and passwords.
Qualified candidates will have one to three years of demonstrated experience in a help desk environment. Knowledge of current system architectures (Dell, HP/Compaq and Apple), Windows and Mac operating systems, Microsoft Office, and basic networking is required. Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of technology—hardware and software—also required.
