A glossy polychrome faience inlay depicts a butterfly with spread wings. The central body is a thick, vertical dark-brown form with a bumpy, pitted texture. From this center, two semi-circular cream-colored wings extend, marked by dark-brown horizontal bands and mottled spots. A yellowish glaze glints across the translucent surface, pooling in shallow recesses. The rounded edges and lustrous finish highlight the delicate, ornamental craftsmanship of this small, ancient decorative figure.
