A horizontal musical bow is made from a slender shaft of striated reddish-brown wood. The shaft tapers between two rounded end knobs. Lashed to the frame on the left is a hook-shaped wooden component. Taut, dark strands of horsehair stretch between this hook's base and a binding near the right end. This minimalist structure emphasizes the tension between the arching wooden body and the linear, dark fibers.
