A circular iron sword guard with a dark, pitted surface features a central blade slot flanked by an oval aperture. To the right, a high-relief figure wearing a gold conical hat sits on a horse beside two gold birds. Above, a silver-colored bird flies near copper-toned clouds. Gold leaf motifs decorate the bottom edge. The weathered, dark metal provides a stark background for intricate precious-metal inlays illustrating a narrative scene.
