A circular iron sword guard features a dark, unevenly textured surface with a thick, rounded rim. Three vertical openings pierce the center: a tall, narrow middle flanked by two oval voids. A winding gold vine with small leaves and hanging gourds scrolls across the face. At the base, two leaves appear in a muted reddish-brown. Delicate swirling stems curve around the leaves, interspersed with wear on the aged metal.
