A circular sword guard features a dark-brown, pitted iron disk with a pierced design. Five mallet-shaped forms radiate from an oval central plate to the outer rim. This central plate contains a vertical rectangular opening and two small holes. Inlaid gold and pale-gray floral patterns decorate the radiating forms. The mallets' T-shaped ends meet the heavy frame, while two lobes flank the center.
