An iron tsuba, a thick oval sword guard, features a dark-brown, textured surface. A tapered vertical opening at the center is flanked by narrow, curved side openings. Ornate carvings of overlapping leaves encircle the middle in raised relief, meeting at the top and bottom. Within these patterns, small golden-toned metal studs are embedded, decorating the wide outer rim.
