A circular iron sword guard features pierced designs around a central oval opening flanked by lobed cutouts. A fan decorated with gold hemp-leaf patterns rests at the top. To the left, a butterfly perches among tall grasses. Along the bottom, a cricket and a praying mantis crawl through foliage. Gold inlay highlights the insects' forms and the fan's surface against the dark metal's textured, pitted patina.
