A horizontally oriented copper plate features a reddish-brown surface with a large diagonal X scratched from corner to corner. In the lower half, dense clusters of dark vertical lines suggest thickets of grass. Faint horizontal scratches in the upper half resemble clouds. The mottled surface is marked by dark brown patches and silvery highlights where the metal is deeply incised, giving the scene a weathered, industrial texture.
