A vertically oriented, etched copper plate depicts a narrow street flanked by tall, dark buildings on the left and hazy architectural forms on the right. Dense, fine strokes create textured shadows across the dark metallic surface. A large, scratched X and a central vertical line cross the entire composition, marking the plate as cancelled. Uneven paving stones fill the foreground, and much of the urban scene is cast in deep shadow.
