Description

This flat headdress was worn by a female maize dancer. The stepped forms at the top are stylized clouds, while the paired feathers may symbolize prayers.
A flat cardboard headdress features a stepped crown with an orange peak. Below, horizontal black and orange bands divide geometric patterns. Two orange V-shapes with black tips sit on cream fields flanking a large arched opening. Two eight-petaled black floral motifs anchor the bottom corners. Muted orange, black, and white paint covers the beige surface. A leather strap and thin cords are attached to the back for fastening.
