Description

This sampler has the maker's initials, M. P., worked in eyelet stitch, at the bottom. The letter "P" is incomplete.
A horizontally long piece of off-white linen is divided into vertical panels of intricate needlepoint lace. At the far left, small embroidered characters lead into panels of large spoked wheels and stars worked within delicate thread grids. The central sections feature airy floral motifs. Toward the right, the sampler transitions into narrower bands of repeating geometric shapes, including diamonds and zigzags, showcasing complex, web-like textures throughout the cream-colored strip.
