This horizontal tan linen sampler features a scattering of muted green, red, and brown silk-embroidered motifs. On the left, clusters of red flowers neighbor delicate script, while the center displays a green alphabet and a menagerie of stylized animals, including a lion and bee. Toward the right, elaborate green foliate borders and scrolling vines unfurl. The fabric's aged edges are frayed, marked by a missing notch at the upper right.
