A square tan linen sampler features horizontal rows of multicolored silk embroidery in red and gold. At the top, four lines of religious verse include the phrase "The Lamb of God for sinners slain." Below, small crowns and initials sit above three larger central motifs: a heart, a star, and a diamond. Anchors, birds, and stylized trees frame the name "Anne Montgomery" at the bottom. Dark stains, creasing, and frayed edges mark the aged textile.
