A square of off-white linen features purple silk embroidery framed by a jagged geometric border. Horizontal registers display the alphabet and a numerical sequence from one to ten and back again. The central inscription reads, "Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all." The name "Louisa Rann" and date "November 28, 1806" occupy the lower section. The textile exhibits frayed, discolored edges and decorative diamond shapes surrounding the word "all."
