A square silk and wool embroidery on cream cloth features a winding floral vine border in blues and browns. Three horizontal alphabet rows in ornate and simple styles sit above a decorative zigzag band. A twelve-line religious poem in dark thread is centered between four small floral sprigs. At the bottom, a woven basket overflowing with fruit sits between the name 'Mary Smith, aged 12' and the location and date 'East Dereham, 1822'.
