Description

There is an inscription knit into this pin cushion, with the name Mary Williamson and the date 1809.
A circular, flattened silk pin cushion features beige knitted threads creating a background for a central pink flower rising from a patterned basket. Dark green stitches form a vertical stem with symmetrical leaves. Tiny pink and green flecks repeat across the field. A dark red ribbon loop is attached at the top. The composition uses organic shapes and repeating textures to detail the small, round surface.
