Description

In this object, Venetian Flat Point needle lace is worked on a small section of the green card, which is in turn attached to a piece of coarse, plain weave linen. On the back of the linen is a paper label, indicating that at one time this object was in the collection of Florence L. Cohen.
A horizontally long piece of tan woven fabric features a rectangular green paper lace pattern. Intricate black ink scrolls into dense, interweaving floral motifs across the center. In the upper right, a delicate fragment of shimmering, web-like needle lace follows the ink outlines. Handwritten script borders the top and left, while wide white stitches secure the paper to the coarse, textured linen backing.
