A vertically oriented ivory card case with scalloped edges is intricately carved with floral and avian motifs. In the center, a large, long-necked bird stands amidst blooming flowers and foliage. Above a horizontal seam, a smaller bird flies toward the right near clusters of fruit. A twisted cord-like pattern borders the entire piece, where deep carvings of overlapping leaves and branches create a dense, textured surface.
