A square plain weave linen and cotton embroidery handkerchief features a translucent, wrinkled center. Dense floral and leaf patterns frame the piece, with delicate sprays trailing inward from the corners. The ornate, wavy edges are composed of circular sections with web-like lace patterns. Small areas of brown discoloration mark the top and bottom. The intricate white-on-white embroidery creates a textured border, contrasting with the fine, light gray fabric of the central field.
