Description

The design of this piece of lace is similar to three other pieces of lace in CMA's collection—1945.86–88.
A horizontally long off-white linen lace edging is patterned with repeating diamond-shaped clusters containing intricate floral motifs. Looking closer, a dense network of small holes forms a delicate mesh throughout the woven fabric. These motifs extend uniformly across the textile between straight top and bottom edges. The right end appears slightly uneven, highlighting the fine texture of the off-white threads used in the bobbin lace construction.
