Did You Know?

The bowl is shaped like a cicada.
A long, slender opium pipe of golden-brass slants from bottom-left to top-right. Delicate, repeating patterns are incised along the metal stem. Near the lower end, a dark, cicada-shaped bowl rests on a silver-colored band, the insect's body and wings carved in relief. The pipe's upper right end terminates in a small, cream-colored ivory cylinder, its smooth surface contrasting with the textured, muted gold tone of the main body.
