The imitation tortoise-shell pipe has an ivory tip terminating in a clasped hand of ivory holding the jade bowl.
An imitation tortoiseshell opium pipe features a long, slender stem with a mottled amber and dark brown pattern. At one end, an ivory base carved as a hand with curled fingers supports a lobed, pale green jade bowl with gray flecks and a small central opening. A short ivory mouthpiece caps the opposite end of the stem.
