A square off-white linen handkerchief is bordered with dense needle lace patterns of roses and lilies. The intricate floral motifs, connected by fine mesh-like openwork, frame a star-shaped plain linen center. Symmetrical arrangements of serrated leaves and blossoms occupy each corner and side, their organic shapes forming a scalloped outer edge. Varied textures arise from the layered patterns, which point toward the textile's middle.
