A jade cup, carved from translucent white stone with yellowish-brown mottling, curls into a lotus leaf with undulating edges. Branching lines representing leaf veins streak across the exterior. To our left, a lotus seed pod with circular depressions projects from the side. On the back rim, a carved crab with bent pincers appears to crawl into the vessel. The organic form sits on a rounded base.
