Description

The design consists of two aligned rows of winged, regardant ibexes, 3-1/2 in each row, the top row going left, the bottom row to the right. The oval ornament at the base of the wing and interstices are filled with a stylized foliate motif. The design is dark blue on a tan ground.
A rectangular silk textile fragment features horizontal rows of dark blue winged quadrupeds facing right on a tan ground. Each creature is framed by curling foliate scrolls, with a circular floral motif on its flank. The cloth has significant wear, dissolving into frayed threads along its irregular edges. The fine weave displays a repeating pattern of creatures that remains distinct despite the muted and aged surface of the fragment.
