Description

This fragment's overall lozenge grid has alternate rows of two opposed pairs of confronted camels on a densely foliated ground flanking a central ornamented diamond that encloses four-directional palmettes in deep golden tan on a dark blue-green ground, and symmetrical pairs of opposed floral vines in dark blue-green on a deep golden tan ground.
A vertically oriented dark brown silk textile fragment features a repeating pattern of interlocking diamonds. Inside each shape, mirrored pairs of stylized animals stand amidst curling foliate motifs. Significant damage results in large horizontal gaps and missing chunks, particularly along the right edge. The fabric shows irregular, frayed borders, revealing a lighter brown ground beneath dark patterning where exposed horizontal threads span several deep tears.
