Description

This textile fragment preserves a pair of addorsed peacocks in tan on a plain tan background with an inscription along the border.
A horizontally oriented brown silk textile fragment features a tan-colored pattern of two stylized peacocks at its center, standing back-to-back with heads turned toward one another. Their large, fan-like tail feathers meet in the middle, embellished with heart-shaped designs and geometric lines. Vertical bands of Kufic script frame the scene on the left and right. The fabric exhibits a visible woven texture with frayed, irregular edges along the top and bottom.
