Description

This fragment includes pairs of confronted rabbits(?) arranged in staggered horizontal rows. The right border preserves parts of a selvage and an inscription, which is orthograde to the right and retrograde to the left. The rabbits are woven in dark blue on a tan ground; the inscription is tan on a dark blue ground.
A woven silk textile fragment features horizontal rows of paired, dark-blue rabbits facing one another on a tan background. Significant chunks are missing, with rough edges cutting into the right side. Small rectangular panels of black, angular Kufic script run along the frayed border (see "Inscriptions"). Subtle vertical lines segment the weave throughout. The textile has worn away into irregular, jagged shapes, particularly on the right, where fragments detach.
