Description

This light gray-green jade plate is carved on both sides into the shape of an open chrysanthemum. There are three tiers of concave petals and a central rondel of cross-hatched lines to indicate the pistils.
A jade, a pale green semi-translucent stone, plate features a shallow circular form with a scalloped rim. Closely spaced vertical ridges line the interior and exterior walls, mimicking the radiating petals of a flower. Subtle, cloudy inclusions dot the material. Much wider than it is tall, the delicate dish rests on a flat base. The fluted texture creates a rhythmic pattern from the center to the petal-shaped edge.
