An ivory wrist-rest depicts a vertical form with a slight inward curve. Black Chinese calligraphy (see "Inscriptions") and a red seal feature in the upper third. Below, three crayfish are carved in high relief among lotus leaves and long-stemmed water plants in the lower two-thirds. The smooth, cream-colored surface includes scroll-like details at the upper corners. These detailed aquatic carvings fill the form, set against the pale material.
