A square piece of white linen and cream needle lace is decorated with an intricate wide border of floral motifs. The patterns shape around a translucent plain weave center with inward-curving sides. Large circular flowers anchor the corners and midpoints, connected by delicate scrolling lines and sprays. Varied densities of mesh and raised layers create a textured surface. The outermost edge forms a repetitive, scalloped pattern of rounded petals and pointed leaf shapes.
