Description

Ibexes romp in a landscape of hills on the lower half of this silk fragment. Above are a pair of addorsed horsemen and a standing male figure on the left. All wear tunics with shoulder ornaments and hats with flying ribbons.
A horizontally oriented silk textile fragment features two horizontal bands against a muted gray ground. In the upper register, figures with long braids and dark tunics appear; on the right, mirrored figures ride dark horses. Below, three tan ibexes with large, striped, curved horns leap through jagged yellow mountain forms. The palette consists of muted gray, dark brown, and tan, with visible fraying and wear along the fragment's edges.
