Description

Harry Callahan's photographs incorporate subjects from his everyday life, incluing his family, the surrounding landscape, and details from nature. A primary inspiration for Callahan's work was his wife, Eleanor, who frequently appears in his pictures. This portrait verges upon abstraction, as strong designs of light and shadow fall upon Eleanor's profile, obscuring her features and adding a sense of mystery to the image.
