A square ivory textile features a plain fabric center framed by a wide, scalloped bobbin lace border. Four symmetrical embroidered designs of scrolling lines and leaf shapes accent each inner corner. The lace border displays a repeating pattern of semicircles filled with fine netting and geometric openwork. This monochromatic piece contrasts the smooth central cloth with the intricate, raised threadwork of the fan-shaped borders.
