A vertical, dark reddish-brown leather cover is detailed with elaborate gold-tooled borders and heraldic motifs. Centered within nested rectangular frames, a gold shield displays three bees beneath crossed keys and a papal tiara. Six individual gold bees occupy the panels surrounding the center. The frames feature repeating circular and foliage-like designs, with an outermost edge of small crosses. Fine surface cracks reveal the leather's age throughout.
