Did You Know?

This ceremonial axe is made of carefully worked jade rather than metal.
A ceremonial axe blade features a body of mottled dark-green jade that tapers from a narrow top to a wider, curved base. Charcoal gray and cloudy white patches marble the stone's surface. Near the top center, a small circular hole is drilled through. A thin, jagged fissure extends upward from the bottom, while light tan discoloration and small surface chips mark the edge.
