Description

This tea and coffee service was designed for production by the Rokesley Shop, a collaborative group working at Louis Rorimer’s studio. Reacting against industrial mass production, Rorimer emphasized inventive design in finely crafted objects.
A silver creamer with a wide spout and hammered surface features a rounded body encircled by a raised band of fruit and foliage. Recessed lines below divide the lower half into rectangular panels. A curved ebony handle connects to a flat silver extension level with the rim, which is set with a small, translucent moonstone. The vessel's reflective surface shows soft indentations from being hand-worked.
