Description

This tea and coffee service was designed for production by the Rokesley Shop, a collaborative group working at Louis Rorimer’s studio. Reacting against industrial mass production, Rorimer emphasized inventive design in finely crafted objects.
Hammered silver tongs feature two long arms extending from a curved base toward flared tips on the left. Raised relief carvings of berries and leaves decorate the metal near the curve, which is inset with a small, round moonstone. Each flared tip contains three small, oval cutouts. The silver surface exhibits a dimpled texture throughout, and the arms taper slightly before widening into the decorative, floral base.
