A wood sculpture with gesso depicts a seated Rakan, a monk with a furrowed brow, large eyes, and a downturned mouth. He wears a dark hood and layered robes decorated with faded red, gold, and green patterns. Significant flaking and loss of pigment reveal the natural wood beneath. The Rakan sits with his hands concealed beneath heavy folds of fabric that pool around a rectangular base.
