Description

The Terminal Tower, seen in the background of Schreiber’s image, was an apt symbol for a city on the rise when it opened in 1928 as the second-tallest building in the world. But the Depression hit Ohio hard. In 1933, 67% of construction workers in Ohio were unemployed, as were 50% of Cleveland’s industrial workforce.
