Did You Know?

This object supported a large vessel used for mixing wine with water called a krater.
A circular bronze base, aged with a green patina, flares outward from a wide, flat edge. Vertical ridges line the flared portion, rising toward a band of repeating concentric circular designs. Above these, a row of small, raised beads encircles the body below a chipped, outward-curving rim. Earthy brown tones interlace with the weathered green surface, accentuating shadows within the relief patterns and the vessel's tapered form.
