Description

This rare private, rather than court, surcoat displays flowers of all seasons arranged with elegant simplicity. Included among the 25 symbolic flowers are peonies, plum blossoms, magnolias, and chrysanthemums.
A flared silk robe is covered with delicate floral sprays in pink, yellow, white, and light blue, winding over a dark brown background. The blossoms are detailed with delicate petals, green stems, and fine leaves, spreading across the wide T-shaped silhouette. A vertical opening reveals a pale cream interior lining at the rounded neckline, secured by small toggles. This dense, organic pattern creates a rich texture against the solid dark surface.
