A horizontally oriented woodblock carving in muted brown and pink depicts a townscape. Deeply incised lines define overlapping geometric houses and chimneys. On our left, a stylized tree rises behind a wooden barrel. Another tree stands in the right foreground. A zig-zagging fence spans the middle ground, while a tall building and dark sky fill the background. Linear incisions texture the scene against the various flat planes of the composition.
