Description

Most of Hewit’s woodcuts from the 1950s and 1960s are small like Carrier Guatemala.
A vertical woodblock print composed of flat, geometric shapes depicts a person with a medium-dark skin tone walking away down a tan and yellow cobbled path. Carrying a massive sack, the figure wears dark reddish-brown trousers. To the left, a wooden fence borders green foliage. In the midground, houses with yellow and tan walls sit beneath blue-gray mountains and a dark teal sky. A dark brown border frames the print.
