Description

This futuristic coffee set was designed by Stuart Devlin while he was studying silversmithing at the Royal College of Art in London. Besides its unornamented surface, its use of black plastic sleeves to hold the coffee and hot milk pots was innovative because it eliminated the need for traditional handles.
A silver and nylon coffee pot with a tall, slender cylindrical body consists of a tapered upper section that fits over a shorter base. Near the flat top, a sharp, beak-like triangular spout extends diagonally to the left. The entire silver surface is highly polished and reflective. Devoid of handles or ornamentation, the vessel emphasizes its sleek metallic form and sharp geometric lines against a plain background.
