Description

This futuristic coffee set was designed by Stuart Devlin while he was studying silversmithing at the Royal College of Art in London. Besides its unornamented surface, its use of black plastic sleeves to hold the coffee and hot milk pots was innovative because it eliminated the need for traditional handles.
A silver and nylon lid for a coffee pot features a circular, domed base and a tall black handle. The cylindrical handle rises from the dome's center, tapering slightly toward its flat top. The base is structured with a protruding rim above a vertical wall. Soft reflections and subtle wear mark the polished silver surface, creating a stark contrast with the dark, matte finish of the plastic handle.
