Description

This futuristic coffee set was designed by Stuart Devlin while he was studying silversmithing at the Royal College of Art in London. Besides its unornamented surface, its use of black plastic sleeves to hold the coffee and hot milk pots was innovative because it eliminated the need for traditional handles.
A vertical, hollow cylinder of black nylon and silver stands with stark precision. Its smooth surface absorbs light, creating a deep, matte appearance. At the top, the thick walls are revealed, framing a circular opening that plunges into a dark, shadowed interior. Devoid of markings or decoration, the object maintains a minimalist geometry, its clean lines and simple form defined sharply against a soft, grey gradient background.
