Description

Mace and Kirkpatrick have long been in partnership, creating glass sculptures. They live in the Seattle area, where they have been participating in glassmaking activities since 1988.
A fruit sculpture represents a single pear. The blown glass form tapers from a wide, indented bottom to a narrow top with a dark brown stem. The pear has a warm yellow base with a large, bright red blush bleeding across its center. Tiny, shimmering gold flecks scatter across the smooth, glossy surface. Three bright white highlights catch the light, emphasizing the polished, three-dimensional shape of the glass.
